SurfCDs

We believe that you should be able to take the good times you have in the water with you into the future.

Andy Mac with The Mex in pursuit - Crescent, 2005 ..

Our objectives in producing The Longboard Contest Collection CDs are -

- Provide a lasting, entertaining, and representative photographic record of the events covered
- Make it inclusive of all competitors - not just the surfing stars
- Make it easy to use
- Ensure high quality reproduction of photo prints are achievable from the CD - with access to higher quality prints from the photographer
- Allow a flexible approach to design and content of each CD
- Consider the requirements of the Club or Association hosting the event. This may range from a club's full history to providing an entry-form for next year's event - and everything in between.
- Provide a platform for the Sponsors of the event. This could range from a simple logo to a series of pages with links to their live web site.
- Provide a quality, limited edition product which will still be viewable in 20+ years time - something to show the grandkids!

Joel Tudor give Pat Rafter a hand ..The CDs have been designed to automatically start up your computer's web browser when the CD is inserted in the drive. Navigation through the CD is fast and easy, with the main photos usually viewable in the Albums section. Other sections are provided where necessary to cover such topics as -

  - Host club details and event history
  - Contest review and results
  - Sponsors' pages and/or links to their live web sites
  - Navigation tips
  - Links to web sites of interest
  - Any other sundry information requested by the client (or thought up by the SurfCDs team).

Chelsea Williams - World Champion 2008 ??The Albums section of each CD contains the collection of  photos - split into Albums relating to the day; division; or other components of the event being covered. The Albums can be browsed by selecting thumbnails; next/previous photos; or as a full-screen slide show. Additional Albums covering out of the water (Onshore) photos as well as other interesting categories  are also usually present.  Because the photos in the Albums section are viewed using web browser software, the images can be easily printed or saved using in-built browser facilities - therefore no additional software is required to use the CD. Music has  also been included where appropriate. The Navigation page of each CD provides further instructions on getting around them.

Can SurfCDs do this for you - or for your club or organisation?

At most events relating to surfing, there will be an array of photographers - professional and amateur - capturing the action around them.

SurfCDs compile these collections of photos into a series of easily viewable albums, which incorporate slideshows and individual photo save/share/print facilities.

The albums are tied together in a website structure that can incorporate other sections - such as club, history, sponsors, links and other  information related to the event - which form a comprehensive, interactive, digital presentation designed to operate on just about any PC/Mac on the planet. (IE 6.0 or better)

The end result is snippet of visual and informative history - that can be viewed and shared  for years to come.

All photographers represented on the CDs are individually acknowledged by way of email and/or website contact so that viewers may order printable versions of any photos they wish to obtain. The images on the CDs are great for the screen but may not provide a good printed image.
